Christmas And Beyond In Cambridge – It’s Not Just Universities

When you think of Cambridge you immediately think of Universities but there is a great deal more associated with Cambridge than that.

I am not saying that the Universities should be ignored as they deserve to be given the justly deserved time to see and marvel over and if you are interested in seeing them then the punt tour gives you the unique opportunity to take photographs of the much-loved and well-known colleges from a privileged viewpoint or alternatively relax on the top deck of an open topped bus and enjoy the sights from there.

With so many sights to see, Cambridge is one of the most beautiful cities in the country to visit. Grantchester Meadows, the glorious architecture and the charming cobbled streets of the city centre all conspire together Cambridge tourist attractions to create a place that is fascinating to explore.

To enjoy the sights and sounds of the city there are many ways to get around in comfort and style.

If you feel energetic you can take the bike tour and see the further reaches of the city and explore them at your leisure.

If you are visiting Cambridge make sure you give yourself plenty of time to do all that you want to do.

I have included a few ideas for you to think about but I am sure that there are many, many more that you will find as you travel about.

Christmas in Cambridge 2012

Cambridge at Christmas – visit Santa’s Grotto, go for a skate on the North Pole Ice Rink and let’s not forget the ultimate, the big Christmas lights switch on! Yes Christmas in Cambridge has so much to offer over the festive period.

During the same day you could visit the North and South Poles at the Scott Polar Institute, view, goggle eyed, Egyptian relics at the Fitzwilliam Museum, stare in awe at old masters by artists including Titian, Cezanne and Canaletto or take a peek at the original specimens Collected by Darwin on his trip on The Beagle- and all within a short walking distance of each other.

Among other museums to visit is the IWM Duxford, the University Museum of Zoology, the Cambridge and County Folk Museum, the National Horseracing museum and the Whipple Museum of the History of Science.

Other (if you have the time)

It has such a prolific nightlife, bars and clubs, Theatres and Cinemas, Restaurants classy as well as multi user and a deserved sense of poetic history that time to do it all will become a problem.

With so much to do and see in Cambridge I would recommend that time should be put aside and reserved so that you can take advantage of all that Cambridge has to offer.
